Our Services on Good Times and Bad Time
| What we do?
If you are do-it-yourself US stock market investors, specially self-directing IRA investors, but are not satisfied with your own investment result or are not satisfied with your current investment advisors, we are here to help you. We want to share our investment experience with you, want to help you to achieve above average return for your money to invest into US stock market, no matter market is up or down, with the objective to gain your financial freedom and to have a peaceful retirement life. Here is what we do: We provide a set of timely designed Portfolios, which consist of carefully selected stocks, to you. We believe that those stocks will outperform the market by a big margin in the long run. Our portfolio currently consists of three sub-Portfolios: $5K Portfolio – This Portfolio is aimed at small investors, who have only few thousands of dollars to start investing but want to accumulate enough money in the long run for their retirement. Our target is to achieve 70%-plus annualized return and grow the money from $5,000 to $50,000 in four years or less. The Portfolio will reset to $5,000 after every four year run. Core Portfolio – The Portfolio will start with $200,000 and we want to grow it into one million dollars in four years or less. The Portfolio will use both Buy-and-Hold and Swing Trade investment strategies and try to achieve 70%-plus annualized return. The Portfolio will reset to $200k once it reached our one million dollar mark. Short Term Portfolio – This Portfolio is for active investors who have time to manage their accounts during market hours. We want to take the advantage of small changes in the stock movement and maximize the profit potential. Day trades are possible. Our target is to make 200%-plus yearly return under this Portfolio. The Portfolio will start with $100,000 and set back after one year run. To be successful in investing in US stock market, first you have to identify undervalued stocks, not overvalued stocks to buy. Many times, popular stocks often make shares outrageously expensive, leaving even good companies vulnerable to painful downturns. You are bound to lose if you chase overvalued stocks. We think that we can help you in both ways. We can help you to identify undervalued stocks to own and we can help you to hold those stocks patiently to achieve good long term returns. We will not only identify which stocks to buy and sell, we will also let you know at what price to own the stock and to take profit. All of our buying/selling suggestions will be sent through e-mails one day before we take actual actions, giving you enough time to do your own research. Of course, our Portfolio is only our suggestion. You don't have to follow us completely. We strongly suggest that you do your own DD before buying any stock in the Portfolio. We have heard many times that some of our members did much better jobs than what we did. Click here to try our service or start our one month special trial What we have done? Investment is not an easy game. You may be very disappointed if you invested in mutual funds or followed the major market indexes in last ten years wishing to achieve the expected +10% long term annualized return. From August 1, 2001 to July 30, 2010, for the whole nine years, the market indexes gave you total returns of +4.05% (NASDAQ), -14.90% (S&P500) and -13.44% (DJ 30) respectively. This is even less than bank's Certified Deposit interest return (CD's). Our professional team, lead by our award winning Investment Strategist Dr. James Shaw, winner of MSN 1st million dollar investment contest, has made consistent investment returns over the years under all market conditions. This is achieved by our countless hours of hard work. Here is how we performed: our annualized return is +75.72% and our total return is +15,970.50% from 2001-08 to 2010-07 (click here to see our month-by-month performance). The recent biggest bear market started from December 2007 and reached the low at around the end of February 2009. During this period, market lost about half of their values. Among them, S&P500 lost -46.91% , NASDAQ lost -48.22% and Dow John 30 lost -47.18%. But our Portfolio gained +72.51%. We started our new Core Portfolio and Short Term Portfolio on February 1, 2009 and they gained +90.41% and +497.87% respectively in one year while the S&P 500 gained only +30.03% in the same one year period. Our Portfolio returned one big winner followed by another one each and every month during this difficult period of time. In fact, the biggest winner came from the worst month the market performed: that is, +330.67% returns in 5 days on FRE during Sept 2008 after US government took over this troubled mortgage company. Followings are some of our winners since recession started from December 2007:
What is Our Investment Strategy? We strongly believe that the only way to achieve long term investment success is to have innovative investment strategies. There is no fixed strategy. The investment strategy has to keep pace with rapid changes of market conditions. Since its inception in July 2001, our investment has been buy-and-hold. We identify undervalued stocks and buy it for long term gains. We never set stop losses as long as our view on the stock we selected does not change. Instead, we may double or triple our positions if stocks went down further after our initial buy. We have achieved over 70% of annualized return using this strategy. But buy-and-hold does not work in bear market. In big bear market, you may lose 80% - 90% of your investment if you buy-and-hold. Short-and-hold may be the best strategy. Because we cannot short stocks as our Portfolio is mainly for IRA investors and IRA investment accounts cannot short stocks, we have to make changes to meet the challenges ahead of us. Here is what we have done since bear market started in December 2007:
In the investment world, no strategy is the best one. There will always be better ones. Changes we have. We will continue working hard to develop new better investment strategies to meet the challenges from the changing world.
